Com - Hospital Visit

Description

This is a commission from the lovely :iconredvelvetpotatoes: Who asked for such a wonderful drawing that I'm thrill to bits with how its turned out.

He asked me to drawing myself, recovering hospital after my operation last year receiving visit from his twin OCs Jesse (Red shirt) and Melody (Orange & White shirt). However it seems dear Jesse is shy of me and is doing his best to hide his face in the flowers they brought as a gift.

Seriously, I'm so happy with how well this turned out. I've been tinkering with some new shading methods, I've been learning to use my tablet more effectively and also trying to do more freehand lineart instead of the pen tool X3 Still got a long way to go but I'm happy with what I've learned so far and I can only improve from here. Either way, I'm chuffed! ^^
Enjoy~

Its a very sweet and heartwarming piece, helps restore some faith in humanity to be honest that someone would even commission this as an idea. And you've certainly done well to bring out that kindness through this picture. Its not a picture one would see very often, and from personal experience I can testify you've emulated the hospital room you were in exceedingly well. Wardrobe, bed, wall panels like the plugs and notifications on the memo board are all styled just like the ward.

The bedding has an impressive amount of detail, taking into consideration just how wrinkled hospital bed sheets can get and putting the shading in all the right little places. Further taking into account the lighting in the ward itself, you've layered in the shading as realistic as possible. Its a nice, bright atmosphere as you'd expect from the light being above with subtle shine added to hair, blankets and anything else right below it. Anatomy and facial expressions are well done, not much to add on there. Nice that you've added the little embarassed shot of Jesse in the corner. Very cute, and adds more to the decent human being element.

As a final note, I saw the amount of detail you put into those flowers. Above and beyond what most do, so extra points to you for making sure everything always has its rightful place!
