Description

I decided to update my character Ashelya, give her some new clothing and add some more personality to her. I'll probably be doing this with a few other characters, like Eliza, Rika and Lil'Ash. Possibly even some new characters I've been working on as well between commissions

Ashelya Rosalia

OTHER NAMES: Ashelya Kurayami (Stage Name)

AGE: 25

BIRTHDAY: 22ND August

HEIGHT: 5’5”

SEXUALITLY: Bisexual

UNQUIE FEATURES: Tribal tattoo on face, right thigh, purple eyes (contacts – Blue eyes), wolf ears and tail.

PERSONALITY:  Ashelya is known to be loud and “proud”, not caring about other people think about her and shrugs most people off. Ashelya is confident and out-going, attending parties and hanging around with friends and other bands. She very stubborn and self-absorbed, caring only for herself in most situations, doing what she likes, whenever she likes and no one can tell her otherwise. Ashelya does have a calm side though which mostly shows when she’s on her own or when she’s feeling lazy and wants to relax. She is very quick to anger about certain issues that have happened it the past which have resulted in a few fights with friends, bullies and even her band members. Due to her selfishness and sometimes cruel nature, Ashelya doesn’t make many friends and the friends she does have was due to Eliza introducing her but due to her sometimes violent nature when she gets angry, everyone sticks to the ‘ok’ side. A lot of this anger stems from childhood and a way to keep people distance, she does care for her friends but she finds it hard trying to let people in.

Despite these flaws when it comes to her close friends, sister Rika and adopted sister Lil’Ash she is able to let her walls down, showing a fun and more relax side. She is slowly learning to drop her “bitch-act” as she’s named it and go for a more friendly approach.

PAST
Ashelya grew up in an orphanage with her sister Rika, she was told by one of the carers that her parents couldn’t afford to care for their children and it was too much of a strain. She was bullied a lot in school, due to the fact she lived in an orphanage and had no parents. Ashelya mainly ignored the harsh words from other students but eventually the bullying become too much for her especially when they started bully her sister. She started to lash out at anyone that mentioned her living situation, sister or her parents. Her fights caused her to be thrown out of countless schools, and her anger only got worse because of it. Her only outlet was music, picking up a taste for all sorts of genres and singing to herself during chores or in her room alone. She and sister were fostered by a few families but they couldn’t handle Ashelya’s temper which led back to the care system, she didn’t like people trying to force attention on her, she didn’t want any attachments. At age 9 Ashelya and Rika were adopted by Tedrick and Karin, they had visited the care home a few times. Karin had a son, but was unable to bare another child and that she always wanted a little girl. After they heard the two sisters’ story, and how she was quite violent and prone to anger, they wanted to give her a try and see if a new surrounding would help calm her down.

At first, and for the first time, Ashelya was quiet with her new foster parents and she was nervous with her step-brother, Alran. They didn’t smother her or Rika with attention and allowed them to get use to their surrounding first. Just like in the care home, mostly sat alone, reading or watching TV, she still had a tempter when someone wouldn’t leave her alone and did lash out, something Karin didn’t stand for; even Alran would warn to use his mother as a way of getting Ashelya to behave herself. Though, with careful parenting Ashelya’s attitude did slightly change, she started to join the family when they watched TV and started to help out more often with chores. Her attitude had be much better since arriving at her new home to the point they wanted her to try school again.

Although, hearing the news that she’d be going back to school. Ashelya’s bad tempter started back up, while not as destructive as before she still didn’t act nice with others. This being high school would bring its own troubles with new faces and bullies, Ashelya being the new girl would be a new target but she wouldn’t be an easy one. Fights started to happening with just about anyone she knew had it in for her, quickly asserting her dominance and warning off others that did the same. Ashelya became a lone wolf again, while she let her attitude at school rule, she was still reasonable with her foster parents and accepted the extra chores if she had caused a fight as punishment. Karin had noticed Ashelya’s singing and noticed how different she was when she had her music, maybe this could help her come out of her defensive shell.

Karin spoke with the music teacher in the school and asked how Ashelya was during their class. As she expected, this seemed to be the only class she took a bit of interest and he even noticed Ashelya had a talent for singing and could tell she was holding back. Back home, Karin spoke with Ashelya about school and her troubles she was having with others there. As usual, the young girl shrugged off speaking about the fights but then her foster-mother ask her about her music class and the teacher was impressed with Ashelya’s singing. Feeling her cheeks flush and burn with embarrassment, she quickly tried to abort the situation but Karin gave her a firm order to stay seated. She listened and fidgeted in her seat, no one ever spoke to her about her voice and singing. They talked, even though she was squirming the more the convocation continued, that was until Karin proposed a deal to her. The deal, Ashelya would need to show-off more in music class to build up her confidence and Karin would help her with her other studies when she need it. Really, this was a no-lose situation for Ashelya, so without much choice, she agreed.

A few months later, with her mother’s help, her grades improved. As for her music class, Ashelya did begin to grow in confidence, started with singing a little louder, learning the piano in an after school class and getting extra help with her singing from the teacher. He was impressed just how she was able to control her voice, she seemed to come alive when she played piano and sang. The teacher then offered her a chance to enrol in the school band, this worried her though. It wasn’t anything to do with her talent but more the other kids. Most of them just left her alone or bullied her which only led to her tempter flaring up and causing fights. Her teach ensured her that sort of behaviour would not be tolerated from either the band or Ashelya, but this maybe a chance to actually meet some new people.

Now, she was part of the band, becoming one of the main vocalists of the group. The group wasn’t big but to Ashelya was still imitating to others, the band members were aware of her history with other students and they did keep their distance. There was one student that didn’t; first meeting this girl she was carrying a bunch of chairs with ease. This was Eliza, a student that wasn’t around a great deal but did try to turn up to lessons but due to family problems it wasn’t always possible. This 6ft giant was even more intimating then the young wolf; she was muscular and had a large scar across her face. The teacher introduced her to the redhead, she seemed friendly and seeing her on guitar was amazing. Noticing Ashelya would sit alone, Eliza would sit somewhat close to her and strike up a small-talk about bands to try and get her too opened up now and then. It worked after some time, one mention of her favourite band and Ashelya opened like a book about her favourite album, songs and other bands. It turned out they had a lot in common and a bond was forming nicely.

High school was coming to an end, her grades had improved and others in the school recognised her from the band, complimenting her on her singing. People weren’t that afraid of her any more, she had earned her respect through her talent instead of her fists. Ashelya and Eliza were now closer the ever, becoming best friends, hanging out and practising music together. Eliza was still a bit of mystery to her at times, she never spoke about her scar or her family much; Ashelya had even met her family. Seemed she was hiding them from her for one reason. Both of them applied for the same college, Ashelya apply for musical/vocal studies, while Eliza’s focus was on becoming a better guitarist.

It was now time to start college, a fresh start where no one would know of her past fights and problems, she believed this would help make friend a little easier. That and she still had her giant vampire friend to keep her company. Time seemed to fly for Ashelya, she loved the atmosphere of college, more freedom, more relaxed and engaging for her. She met new friends with Eliza, such as the fitness buff Tyler, graphic designer, Ian and the enthusiastic Howard. Throughout college, Ashelya had noticed Eliza was getting flustered around her and tripping over her own words speaking to her.

At first, she wasn’t too sure why her friend was acting in such a way; it was only due to Howard after he accidentality let it slip out that Eliza was thinking of Ashelya as more than a friend. Realising all the signs after she was told and then seeing Eliza, it became painful obvious to her. At first, Ashelya didn’t know what to think, she had never thought of other women in that way. The more she was with Eliza and hanging out together, that those feelings started to spark inside her. Her red-headed friend had become more open and even finally going into the story behind her scar. Ashelya was shocked, everything pieced together as she learned more about a good friend who she thought she knew inside out. She saw that talking about her painful past was upsetting her friend; Ashelya leaned into her and cuddled her. They stayed like this for what felt like awhile until Ashelya looked up at Eliza, who smiled at her and leaned over and kissed her. She was stunned and pulled back. Almost as if clicking back into reality, the vampire jumped back as well, her face as red as her hair. She stammered, flustered and apologising profusely, which only lead to Ashelya laughing at her reaction, the little spark had turned into a flame. She went back to cuddling up with Eliza and leaned up to give her a quick kiss telling her “it’s cool, you idiot.” They then officially started dating.

Despite Ashelya having completed her course in music, trying to find a job revolving around it was not that easy. She took a job in a local coffee shop, learned the ropes and forming a plan for future. Using the money from her job, she bought equipment she needed to record music, a good microphone, software for her computer to help editing videos and sound ect. She and Eliza were still going strong, spending whatever spare time together relaxing and both of them testing the musical equipment. However at one point, Eliza started to get more paranoid and gradually it was getting worse. She was getting overprotective and easily irritated, she feared for Ashelya walking home alone or waiting on her own for Eliza. She would argue with her girlfriend, asking why she was being this way. She told Ashelya that her father was released from prison and she was worried he would harm her family and/or the people she was close to. Ashelya still argued that wasn’t a good enough reason to be so suffocating, it wasn’t fair.

The arguments continued for another month or so until Ashelya had reached a breaking point. She and Eliza had a long talk. Eliza tried her best to explain herself and even promising things would change, it didn’t change Ashelya’s mind. So, after long teary break up, Eliza and Ashelya went their separate ways. They still promised to stay friends and for the next couple of months they should keep their interactions limited so they could have some breathing space. Ashelya was heartbroken, she spent a lot of time moping in her bedroom, not finding much motivation and trying her best to not call Eliza. Slowly over the months she tried to bury herself in work and recording covers. Eliza was the first to break the silent but it was about a part time job offer for singer at her mother’s bar. This was a good opportunity but an awkward one at that. Still this did mean a step closer to her dream, so she applied for the job and with a good word from Eliza, she got it.

Things between the two were still strange, but the rift was slowly healing between them. Eliza’s overbearing nature was still there but Ashelya was starting to put her foot down with her. This would cause some strain between them but they were still able to work together. It was here she met a man named Grave, basically the sound guy. He was the one behind the scenes working on speakers, lights and making sure the place didn’t set a light. Both got to talk the more they seen of yet other. He even popped into the coffee shop she worked at and spent her breaks chatting with him about music and plans for the future. He loved his work, mostly making his equipment from scratch and selling it. He was hoping to owe his own music store. Grave was relaxed and easy going, and Ashelya was falling his laid-backed nature. He just wanted to have fun, something he was in need of right now. They started off slow; this would be the first person she had dated since Eliza so she wanted to take it nice and easy.

Ashelya and Grave are still dating to this day and going strong. She has a small fanbase online on MeTube, where she posts covers of songs, making polls for new covers and selling the high quality of her songs. She still does live shows at the bar, with Eliza and Grave.

TRIVIA

    ·         Ashelya is an excellent singer. Talking her inspiration from Nightwish’s Tarja. She did want to learn to death growl but doesn’t want to destroy her vocal cords.

    ·         She enjoys just about any genre of music and is able to appreciate all the different sounds. She has a soft spot for musicals.

    ·         People always confuse Ashelya for the younger sister when she’s with Rika, who is a year younger than her older sibling. The reason for this is due to Rika being 5’8” and herself being only 5’5”

    ·         Ashelya is keen of finding out her real parents but not at the cost of her own life. She looks for anything she can find when she has some spare time.

    ·         Her MeTube channel is called KurayamiOokami. She very much regrets this name choice but has no inspiration for a different name.

    ·         Ashelya has a Corgi called Daxter, she named him after a video game character of the same name.

    ·         She likes to act very dominate but really she’s very submissive behind that tough act.

    ·         Favourite meal: Madras lamb curry with basmati rice.
